Are you sociable, like talking and interacting with others?

Social Marketing is the newest trend/strategy of the six listed here. It’s also sometimes called Web 2.0 although I’m not entirely sure what ‘Web 2.0′ means, but I think it just means the next ‘wave’ of the Internet, the ‘new’ communication medium.

It’s absolutely HUGE and there are thousands of people using it very successfully to get visitors to their website and build a loyal following. On the other hand there are thousands of people using it to just interact with people in a particular niche who don’t have or even want an Internet Business.

MySpace and Face Book are the two largest social marketing sites and the majority of people who use these two won’t be using it for business purposes.

I’ve tried social marketing to get a blog off the ground (yes the ‘doomed’ one mentioned above) and I must say social marketing is the most time-consuming activity I have ever done. I only tried it because I was part of a membership site and I was told that I must do social marketing or my blog will fail!

Well my blog did fail (not this one!) because I was so bored and stressed with trying to juggle making daily blog posts while doing all the social marketing stuff I give up and threw in the towel!

I don’t do any social marketing at all because I find it boring and too time consuming that yields little results for my efforts. However, I know a lady who just loves to interact and be sociable with people in her niche so that is her main marketing activity and that suits her – not for me though!
