Lets face it, who wouldn’t want to have an automated income stream(s) making money 24/7 on autopilot?

I know that there are people on the Internet who want to run a ‘business’ online and don’t mind putting in the hard work, but no-one in their right mind would turn down the opportunity to make a little easy automated income stream making them extra money in the background.

Then once you have one automatic income stream set up, you then repeat the process again and again and again until you have multiple income streams making you money. Does this sound good to you?

Below I have written a brief outline of how to set up one automated income stream:

#1 First you need to write an ebook on a subject where you know that people need answers to. For example “How to Quit Smoking” or “How to Get Rid of Acne in 5 Days”. If you can’t write a whole book on your own either get a ghost writer to write it for you or buy PLR rights to information on your chosen subject and then re-write the information in your own words to produce a book.

#2 You will then need to create a web page called a ’squeeze’ page where you will collect visitors names and email addresses in return for something free (give away your first chapter free as a teaser).

#3 You will need to sign up for an autoresponder service such as Aweber or GetResponse as this will be the automation part of the system.

#4 By using Aweber (which is what I use) will allow you to automatically send your free ebook and paid ebook automatically to your subscribers. You will then automatically be able to send them emails once a week offering more helpful tips but to also recommend other products and if they buy, then you make a profit.

This is all done automatically. Don’t underestimate the power of an autoresponder as it literally makes you money while you sleep!

#5 The last thing is of course is to drive traffic to your squeeze page. To make this whole system 100% automatic you could use Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising but if you haven’t got the money then use free marketing techniques such as article marketing or forum posting.

In a nutshell that is the basics of an automated income stream. Yes you obviously have to put some hard work in up-front but once that is done you have very little else to do.

This leaves you with time to repeat the whole process again to make another income stream. Image having several income stream each making you £100-£300 a week!

If you want to learn how I do it and how I set everything up then read my Automated Income System guide to get you started!

You know a lot about a certain subject and want to show your authority by creating hundreds of web pages with your own content. You have patience to build a real business and can wait for the money to come in after a few months of starting.

Content sites aren’t that dissimilar to building a large blog and have been around a lot longer than blogs. However, the difference is that you aren’t under any pressure to write useful blog posts for your eagerly awaiting readers on a daily basis. You can only write a few pages a week if you like and build your site up slowly over time.

I know of people who have been building their one content site for years now and have hundreds of pages all ranking in the search engines with carefully selected keywords. These people have stamina and dedication to continually write new web pages around specific topics within their niche on a weekly basis. These people don’t see their site as a web site, they see it as their business – this is the key factor here.

Don’t forget that you not only have to write content for your site but you also have to promote it too making this practically a full-time business in itself. Two examples of very successful content sites are http://www.anguilla-beaches.com/ and http://www.updatexp.com

Personality Type:

You have to have a lot of stamina to make continuous blog posts for the rest of your Internet Business life.

Therefore you absolutely must choose a niche in which you are passionate about but will also make you money.

You need to devote a lot of time to your blog business as blogging is very time consuming.

A blogs main purpose for the owner is to build up their authority within a niche. You blog daily making your posts reasonably long with excellent, very informative information for your readers. Hence you are showing them that you’re the authority!

Now you have to gain the trust of your loyal readers by giving away a bucket-load of free information via your blog. The thing here is you aren’t making any money yet because you are gaining their loyalty. When you have been blogging for a few months and have a long list of rss subscribers you can then start gently recommending your products or affiliate products.

Many people are happily profiting from their blogs and 5 figure yearly incomes are easily achievable if you work at your blog constantly getting more and more readers to join your rss feed. Some people are even making 6 figure yearly incomes!

However, blogging is not for everyone. Apparently 99% of people who try to attempt to make a healthy profit from a blog fail. The main reason is you have to be very diligent when it comes to making continuous blog posts on a weekly basis. If you’re blog posts start trailing off, so does your readership. You also need to know how to tastefully monetize your blog so you don’t upset your readers.

Another thing about blogging is that you have to be very web savvy i.e. you’ll need to know a bit of technical stuff to run and promote your blog to it’s best potential. You don’t need to be a programmer but you need to know the majority of the following:

Blog publishing software

Blog comments

Feed aggregators

HTML/CSS

Trackbacks, pings and tagging

Search Engine Optimization

Social marketing & blog carnivals

Partial v full feeds

Email and traffic statistics

If you would like to see an example of a very successful blog look at http://www.fitnessblackbook.com. The guy who owns this site, Rusty Moore, diligently makes 3 very very useful posts each and every week. He has a following of 4,000+ daily readers and in July 2009 quit his full-time job to run this one blog from home, so needless to say he is making a very nice monthly income from his fitness blog.

Personality Type:

Do you have money to pay for your advertising? You don’t particularly like writing articles or interacting with people.

You want lots of instant visitors to your site and don’t mind paying for it.

PPC advertising is where you pay to have an ad on Yahoo or Google’s organic search results for your chosen keyword. You then only pay for this ad when someone clicks on it. It’s then your job to convert that visitor into a customer when they land on your site.

You have to know a LOT about PPC advertising before you should try it as it is soo easy to lose a lot of money, so much so that I think it can be dangerous! But once you have nailed it, it can bring thousands of daily visitors to your site making you a healthy profit.

There are whole books written on the science of PPC and the one which I bought and liked the most is Perry Marshall’s killer Google Adwords book.

I bought his book years ago and I did try PPC but didn’t put the time in to “test test test” as he tells you and then I ran out of money. Anyway, I prefer ‘free’ methods to get visitors to my site.

However, if you would like to pursue this marketing activity my tip would be not to try this until you have studied the science behind it first.

Why not try Perry’s free 5-day course to see if Adwords and PPC could be for you?

Personality Type:

Do you like helping others in your niche but don’t necessarily want to interact one-on-one with others?

Do you enjoy writing and expressing your expertise with words?

This is my favourite as this suits my personality the best and I feel the most comfortable doing article marketing.

There are many many people running hugely successful Internet Businesses and only promote it through their articles so don’t underestimate the use of using articles to promote your online venture.

In order to do this successfully you need to submit articles on a daily basis. For the best results, write articles 350-600 words long, if you can, put a keyword in the title and throughout the text in the hope it might end up in the search engines. Don’t forget to put your link back to your site in the ‘Bio’ at the bottom of the article.

Submit your article to EzineArticles and GoArticles, there’s no need for any other directory. My tip would be to submit it to EzineArticles first then change the title and a bit of text and then submit it to GoArticles. If you go for keywords with very very little competition (under 10,000) then you’ll get onto Google’s first page.

I have 3 slots on Google’s first page for the term “house cleaning flyers”. One is from the article on my site, one from EzineArticles and one from GoArticles. While the term ‘house cleaning flyers’ isn’t that popular, it still brings in a nice flow of visitors to my site on a daily basis – and that’s just from one article.

By no way am I an expert in article marketing (yet), but I have followed the lead from a very nice guy called Mike Long who knows a lot about article marketing. You can read what he has to say about becoming an Article Bully to dominate any niche purely with articles.

Are you sociable, like talking and interacting with others?

Social Marketing is the newest trend/strategy of the six listed here. It’s also sometimes called Web 2.0 although I’m not entirely sure what ‘Web 2.0′ means, but I think it just means the next ‘wave’ of the Internet, the ‘new’ communication medium.

It’s absolutely HUGE and there are thousands of people using it very successfully to get visitors to their website and build a loyal following. On the other hand there are thousands of people using it to just interact with people in a particular niche who don’t have or even want an Internet Business.

MySpace and Face Book are the two largest social marketing sites and the majority of people who use these two won’t be using it for business purposes.

I’ve tried social marketing to get a blog off the ground (yes the ‘doomed’ one mentioned above) and I must say social marketing is the most time-consuming activity I have ever done. I only tried it because I was part of a membership site and I was told that I must do social marketing or my blog will fail!

Well my blog did fail (not this one!) because I was so bored and stressed with trying to juggle making daily blog posts while doing all the social marketing stuff I give up and threw in the towel!

I don’t do any social marketing at all because I find it boring and too time consuming that yields little results for my efforts. However, I know a lady who just loves to interact and be sociable with people in her niche so that is her main marketing activity and that suits her – not for me though!

So you’re wanting to make money online? But are you looking for easy money (which doesn’t exist) or are you looking to put in some work and be rewarded for it? In other words, are you an opportunist or a business owner?

What is an opportunity?

Opportunities are when you buy into a person’s or a company’s money making system and you will follow their system to make you money – and the opportunity owner.

Opportunity seekers are looking for easy money and will go out of their way to find such a system.

Of course I don’t know even quarter of the opportunities which exist out there and I am sure that there are some very legitimate ones and people are making some very nice incomes. It’s just that you don’t know what you are letting yourself in for in the first place and it could be a scam, not what you were looking for or that you hate following their system so you opt-out and you have wasted your initial investment.

What is an online business?

An online business is where you have total control over, you keep all the profits and you work at your own speed.

The first thing you need to do is find a niche where you will be happy working in, a one which you know a lot about and that you can help other people with your expertise in that area.

You then need to find a business and marketing model to suit you – not Jon Henry’s system because you know he is making $10,000 a month with it. Stop following people and choose a one that suits you.

My advice would be to research very carefully and choose a system what works best for you and your family life. This is the ’step 1′ that nearly everyone (and how to ebooks) misses out.
